A rich and famous software developer upon retirement gathered his three sons together. To each son, according to his ability, he entrusted a share of his fortune.
The Trust
To the first son who had very little interest in the family business, he gave a million dollars in stock. To the second he entrusted 10 million in stock and to the third son who was active and invested in the family business, he gave a 100 million dollars in stock in his company.
The first son was lazy. He had not been active in the family business and had earned very little faith in himself or in his ability to start or run a business. He cashed in all his stock and invested every cent in get rich schemes and high-risk Internet startups, hoping that his investments would build his business FOR him. Within a year, he had squandered all that he had and was flat broke.
The second son had some interest in the business. He researched several existing Internet businesses carefully. He sold his stock invested his money carefully in investments considered safe and was satisfied to grow modest profits.
The third son found that growing a business was more exciting and rewarding than simply earning money. He lost himself in the process of building the business. Rather than thinking of himself and his own needs first, he placed the needs and desires of others ahead of his own. Everything project he got involved with had a purpose and benefited others.
Knowing that he didn't know everything he found mentors; paid the dues required, to gain his mentor's attention. In addition, he listened at least twice as much as he spoke.
After educating himself, rather than only invest his fortune, he invested his talent and credibility to develop his own products and services.
He invested his time, his effort, and fortune developing innovative solutions to existing needs and desires mostly under-developed by others in the marketplace.
The legacy
A few years later, the father died and his will was read to the three sons.
To the first son who had invested little, he gave nothing. His entire inheritance was awarded to the others.
To the second son who invested well, haven proven trustworthy he gave a bigger share of his inheritance.
To the third son who had demonstrated greatest desire to create success for himself and for others in the process, he gave the bulk of his fortune.
The Moral of the Story
To find success, we need to focus on we have to GIVE not what we want to GET. Every seed gives birth to fruit of its own kind. This is a law of nature and it can't fail. If you want to earn a successful future invest in good seed, nourish your ideas with desire and intention in order to reap a more abundant harvest.
The secret to Internet success is simple. Find a market that is easy to reach and then find a need or desire in that market that you can fill. This is the easiest way to success and almost everyone overlooks it!
"To everyone who has will be given more, and he will enjoy abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him."
(From Matthew 25:28)
