It is very important for you to realize the importance of setting definite and attainable goals to achieve focus and balance in both your personal and professional life so that you can achieve the success you deserve.
I found myself "flying by the seat of my pants" day in and day out with no real short or long term goals. The only so-called goal I had was to get out of debt, as soon as possible, with the quickest, get-rich method I could find. As I bounced around from one opportunity to another, I learned the importance of setting well-defined goals.
My new goal is to have my own successful home-based Internet Marketing business. To accomplish this, I had to take the time to become more knowledgeable about the Internet. I first set a short-term personal goal of six months to learn about Internet Marketing. I knew that mastering the skills to make me a professional marketer would take even longer than that. Even my specialized knowledge would not attract money, or success, unless it is organized, and channeled through practical plans of action.
My Success Goal Cards became my plan of action and my road map for all my personal and professional endeavors. It gave me the organized direction that I needed daily to begin accomplishing my goals.
Now, here's how you can set up your own American Success Goal Card System in less than an hour:
1. Label five 3x5-index cards with a pen or pencil with the following headings:
- CARD #1 DREAMS
- CARD #2 PERSONAL GOALS
- CARD #3 FINANCIAL GOALS
- CARD #4 CAREER GOALS
- CARD #5 LIFESTYLE GOALS
2. Under each heading, list your dreams or goals for that area in your life. On the back of each card, write down 2-3 things you will need to do to accomplish those goals.
3. Select the best place to keep your goal cards but always in full view. Each day read your cards, in the morning and at night. Reading your goals at least twice daily will keep them in your consciousness thinking. VERY important! And this will then help to keep your mind out of the state of Failure Consciousness and into the state of SUCCESS Consciousness.
4. Keep a notebook journal right next to your Goal Cards with a more detailed "daily to-do list" for each card.
Goal Card Examples:
CARD #1: MY DREAM To have my own successful home-based Internet Marketing business so that I can experience financial freedom, retire early with a steady stream of income from my Internet business, and spend more time with my family.
(on back of card) I have set definite goals to accomplish this as listed on my PERSONAL, FINANCIAL, CAREER, and LIFESTYLE Goal Cards.
CARD #2: PERSONAL GOALS
- -To learn about Internet Marketing (6 mo. goal)
- -Master the skills to make me a professional marketer (12 mo. goal)
- -Read "Think and Grow Rich" by Napoleon Hill, then read again!
- -Strive to keep my mind focused daily on my dream by being positive, happy, persistent, and never giving up!
(on back of card) -Study on-line Internet Marketing course 1-2 hours per day. -Get involved in an Internet affiliate program(s) to earn as I learn and to gain more knowledge about the Internet.
CARD #3: FINANCIAL GOALS
- -To become debt-free in 3-5 years.
- -To have an income of at least $300/mo. from my Internet Marketing business (9-12 mo. goal) (Start low, don't set yourself up for failure)
- -To have an income of $1000/mo. from my Internet business (18 mo. goal)
(on back of card) I will do at least two things each day to "plant seeds" to build my business such as -advertise my affiliate program on Free Ad Sites, in ezines, etc; network with other members to learn success tips; subscribe to free Internet Marketing newsletters; order samples of online marketing tools and learn how to use them, etc.
By having Goal Cards for reference, I am able to use them each day to quickly get direction for the learning and earning process. But it also serves as a reminder that I will allow 1-2 hours a day for building my Internet business and also stay focused on my other goals and responsibilities.
Using The American Success Goal Card System on a daily basis will give you a new sense of direction in all areas of your life. You will stay on track and be able to give the proper attention to each important area of your life. It will also allow you to spend more quality time with your family!
